Leaving on a Jet Plane

Well this is going to be one of my last posts for I am leaving to get back home soon. I learned to fire the mortar system the other day. So the picture is of me and a couple of the mortar men. They are some good guys and they play a mean game of risk. I will miss all the guys I have gotten to know that are with Baker company 1/7. But I am glad to get out of Iraq and go back to the states. The power has been going out here a lot because some saliors messed with the power cables and everything. I got letters and some messages from the family reunion. It is nice to hear that I was an honored guest at the family reunion via telephone. I'm looking forward to being able to make a reunion in the future. Some great pictures and thank you to everyone that talked to me on the phone and the bill wasn't so bad. Well I dont have much to say for now. I will talk to everyone and hopefully see everyone real soon.

Almost...

Alright I know it has been awhile since I posted one of these. And I am almost out of here less then a month to go. Oh yeah we found a hedge hog the other day. And its not blue so I knew I could trust it unlike that sonic the hedge hog. Still saying there is something with a blue hedge hog, can't trust him. I went to AQ for a couple of weeks for a change and it was nice. A change of people and work and food that you could eat without guessing what it was. It was nice there but I still rather be where I am. Ummm........ Yeah..... when I sit down to write these things I can never think of anything to say until I post it. Oh our A/C broke, so that is awsome. I know everyone is going through a heat wave back in the states. So at least I'm not the only one sweating through it. Yeah we had another Texas Hold'em tourny. I didn't do so well this time. In fact it was sad so I didn't even take any pictures. I can't think of anything to say so I will be going. Love to all and see you soon.

4th of July

It is the 4th of July the day that we celebrate our freedom. I had a few people ask me if we did anything special since we are fighting for freedom and such. And the answer is not really. The only thing that was difference about it was the food at the chow hall was slightly more edible then normal. And they gave us more neer beer and we got sparkling grape juice. So we decided we should go lounge in our iraqi hot tub while we drank our piss warm neer beer and sparkling grape juice. Marines kept walking by and seeing us enjoying ourselfs and thought it was a good idea since it was 120 something out and decided they should join us. I think we ended up with 8 guys in there at a time. So all in all it wasn't that bad of a fourth even though we didn't get any fireworks. Nothing else really going on to write about.

4 Months and going strong

Well I ment to post this earlier but I was having problems with the internet and getting this page to load up. It's been just over 4 months since I left to come out to Iraq. Time has gone by slow and fast it's weird like that. But I am looking forward to coming home in two months. It seems so close now. I want to thank everyone that has sent me e-mails or packages. It really helps knowing that people are back home supporting us.

Well as you can tell we are still working just as hard as we did when we first got out here. But our Iraq hot tub does feel nice on those hot days. It is nice to be buddies with the water doggs. If you didn't know we share our room(bunker) with the water guys. I'm tring to think of something to talk about but I'm coming up blank.

Toby Keith

Hello everybody sorry that it has been awhile since I have posted anything. I was haveing some technical problems with my computer but I got fixed with some help from my mother. Well a couple of weeks back I was lucky enough to be able to go down to one of th bigger bases and see Toby Keith. For those of you that don't know he is a country music singer. The concert was great he played 6 songs. He sang "I should have been a cowboy", "I love this bar", "Taliban man", "As good as I Once was", "American Solider", "Courtisy of the Red, White, Blue". The last two songs were the best. I saw several tears on most marines around me. At the end of the concert he took Pictures wtih all the companies that came. And we gave him a gift from us so he could remember his trip out to visit us. The base is located near some railroad tracks and stuff, so they cut a chunk of a railcar off and framed it. The rail car had been turned to swiss cheese from a 50 cal. heavy machine gun. Toby Keith loved it and sad he was going to hang it in one of his bars. That is all for now I will probably post a new blog soon.

Texas Hold em

Well last night we held a Texas Hold em tournement with almost 30 marines. It was a $20 buy in and the winner got 55% of the total. I was lucky to make it to the championship table playing against 10 other marines and soldiers. I ended up placing 6th over all not bad but I was wishing to at least get third so I could have gotten a little bit of money. At the first table I got nick named the Cardiac Kid becaus I was down to $5 dollars and ended up leaving the table with the biggest stack to head up to the chanpionship table. The best part was that the CO was the first one out of our table. I think the delaer was helping out the 1st SGT cause he was the chip leader for most the game until I got some good hands when we switched dealers. But that championship round I couldn't get anything going but at least I wasn't the first one out. There is something about a concert thay I may get to go to. I don't know much else about it besides it's country music. Nothing else really going on around here. I thank all of you that are supporting me while I'm out here by writing me and sending me packages. Whick reminds me I have a new address so that things get to me a little faster.

Yeah....

Hello all. Some people wanted to see a new picture of me out here so I took this the other day. I figure it adds to the video game playing experience if you put on all your combat gear before you start playing a game of sonic the hedge hog. I know most think it would make more sense if I was playing a shoting game but in the marine corps we rarelly do what makes the most sense. Plus there is ust something about a blue hedge hog that I don't trust. He has to be up to something. Nothing really new is going on out here. I got two packages yesterday but one wasn't mine(marines run the mail rooms). But it was nice to recieve a movie from my parents. It helps mix things up when you have such few movies to begin with and we just keep rewatching them. But you never can get enough Tommy Boy(greatest comedy EVER). It really is starting to warm up out here. Getting up into the 100's most days. Makes you want to stay and hide inside our little bunkers. I mean its night right now and I'm still sweating. It rained several inchs the other day in a under 20 min which sucked because it had to wait till I had to go out and do work so I got soaked. That's all I can think to say right now.
